QUALIFICATIONS:          

 

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age to substitute in grades Pre-K-6 and at least 21 years of age to substitute in grades 7-12.
  2. Must possess a high school diploma.
  3. Must have teaching capabilities in all areas and be able to follow oral and written directions.
  4. Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
  5. Must have the ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
  6. Must be able to pass an employee background check.
  7. Associate degree or above preferred.
  8. Prior experience as substitute teacher, school volunteer, or employee in

     educational/institutional setting preferred.

  1. Must attend orientation to school policies and procedures.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Substitute Teacher teaches and supervises students in the event that their regular teacher is unable to lead class. Duties include managing classroom behavior, quickly interpreting lesson plans, and creating reports to inform the students' permanent teacher of their success.
