*Qualifications:          

1. Hold a valid certificate for teaching Driver’s Education “Behind-the-Wheel.”

2. Have experience with high school “Behind-the-Wheel” instruction.

3. Have demonstrated ability to work with high school students.

Performance Responsibilities:

1.  Meets and instructs the students in assigned locations and at the designated times.
2. Teaches on-road driver education skills based on the Driver Education Curriculum Guide in Virginia as assigned by the driver’s education teacher.
3. Maintains accurate records of “Behind-the-Wheel” driver education activities as prescribed by the driver’s education teacher.
4. Ensures the adequate supervision of students.
5. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
6. Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies.
7. Communicates with students, guidance counselors, and parents concerning the progress of students.
8. Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the building administration immediately, or as soon as possible.
9. Notifies Transportation Coordinator of any maintenance issues involving the “Behind-the-Wheel” vehicle.
10.  Maintains licensure at the state and/or national level.
