*Qualifications:
1. Have adequate educational background and knowledge to be able to tutor students in areas of deficiency.
- Have ability to work effectively with students.
- Possess qualities of patience, positivity, empathy, and confidentiality.
- Be able to communicate with students in an academic setting.
- Have teaching/tutoring experience (preferred).
Reports to: Tutoring Coordinator/Building Principal
Job Description: Tutors will help students understand key concepts, plan tutoring lessons, teach skills to improve academic performance, and offer feedback on progress towards learning goals. Tutoring will be done in individual and/or small group sessions.
Salary: Conditional on background:
- $20 per hour for college students or non-licensed individuals
- $30 per hour for licensed/licensed-qualifying individuals, retired teachers, or those with advanced degrees within content areas
Hours: Six hours per week, five days per week, Monday through Friday when school is in session for the duration of the ALL-In grant.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Work with classroom teachers and Tutoring Coordinator to develop remediation plan for students.
- Provide academic assistance with specific subject matter.
- Reinforce classroom sessions as determined by student needs.
- Assist in preparing materials regarding material being covered in class or on assignments.
*The School Board retains the right to fill the position with the best qualified and appropriate candidate. This is a grant funded position that will end when the grant expires. |
