Job Description:         

The teacher will provide a flexible and safe learning environment for providing instruction in course competencies for Building Trades, Carpentry, and Energy and Power. The teacher will motivate students to develop the attitudes and knowledge needed to secure a high-skill job and/or be successful in higher education.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Plans instructional goals, objectives, and methods for delivering instruction for assisting students to master course competencies.
2. Meets and instructs assigned students in the locations and at the times designated.
3. Adheres to safety regulations and instructs students in safety procedures.
4. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
5. Maintains inventory of all equipment.
6. Maintains student records in a manner consistent with the State guidelines and school procedures.
7. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided.
8. Evaluates student attendance and progress, maintains gradebook to record progress, and submits grades to guidance according to the schedule established by the high school principal.
9. Engages in professional development to remain current in field.
10. Maintains a professional, well-organized and stimulating atmosphere in the classroom/shop which is conducive to learning.
11. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and School Board policy.
