Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Virginia Teaching License in Physics – Master’s Degree in Physics or Master’s Degree in another area with 18 additional graduate hours in Physics course-work preferred
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience
- Experience with Dual Enrollment students preferred
Job Requirements:
- Have a minimum of bachelor's degree in physics or a related discipline; master's degree preferred.
- Possess Virginia teaching license in physics.
- Have knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning.
- Be familiar with different types of teaching sytles.
- Possess patience, innovation, and knowledge of classroom managment and student discipline.
- Have previous teaching experience (preferred).
Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge in the teaching discipline.
- Plan and deliver appropriate curriculum content to students.
- Assess student learning regularly and adapt instruction accordinly to maximize student learning.
- Collaborate with other instructors in planning and delivering instruction to students.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Foster a positive and safe learning environment.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the principal.
